Peripheral Neuropathy

Peripheral Neuropathies are very common. If you have ever hit your "funny bone" you have given yourself a peripheral neuropathy for a few seconds. Peripheral neuropathies are usually caused by a nerve being crushed, rubbed, pinched, or irritated in an arm, leg, pelvis, shoulder, or muscle. Unless your doctor has been specially trained to diagnose the origin of peripheral neuropathies, you will likely never hear this diagnosis.

Medical Physicians are not trained to identify peripheral neuropathies unless they have undergone special training outside of medical school to do so.  Do not rush to surgery unless there is risk for permanent damage. It is very likely that you can be helped at CAM Clinic without surgery.

At the Center for Alternative Medicine, our Doctors are trained to identify peripheral neuropathies and treat them effectively using various techniques, including Active Release Technique, which is considered to be the gold standard in soft tissue management and specializes in peripheral neuropathy treatment.
